Description

...leaves were shivering anxiously while the roots were weaving their own garment, blossoms were giving
away their finest essence and the trees bowed one after the other ushering Her as She woke up one last
time to grant Her light before She slept again for ever..

A lonesome Wildflower, free in a world that She gives birth to in Her dreams, a sleep that lasts for a
thousand years before She wakes up again and rises for a solitary day of life, a day of enslavement in a very human world that buries all dreams forever

Embrace the rare Wildflower and let Her wake up today as well...for us all.

Wow...nice colors and textures! The feeling I get from the scene is both cozy and unsettling at the same time...really interesting! I think the upper left chunk of the image could use a bit more clarity, but other than that, pretty nice. :) +8

Its really beautyful the way you manage to work so thoroughly on a piece!!! I am amazed of how such a complex image doesnt suffer in absolutely no manner at all i.e. every single part of this piece displays the very same ammount of careful work.

The background, although so complex and heavy doesnt attract attention away from the main character...however it could stand as a piece of art on its own! As matter of fact all aspects of this piece could stand on their own..careless of how it would be devided up.

Its also nice to see how the woman is both sensual..mystical and yet fragile and delicate just like a wildflower! Nice contradiction there...and surely meets the purpose!

I dont think there is much i can add..it speaks for itself!

Nice work..as usual!!

You've done a wonderful job with the colours - they seem so wildly mixed at first glance, and when you look closer, they are all more or less from the same range of tones.

Also, all the little details are very well done - the little flowers in the woman's hair just caught my eye.

All in all a very good painting once again, Agios! =]

This is unresistable. Great figure and the colorsheme are at a glance almost "crazy". But you've mixed them so well. Im stunned. And the lightsource in her face/front gives the composition perfect focus! My compliments.

Though the piece is a little too busy, I love the color scheme. The colors play off of each other very well. :)

could use a few more shadows here and there to help separate objects and emphasize lighting.

Great work! Love the textures you managed to paint in the foreground, the "leaves" growing out of the characther is excellent. I can only give you some pointers that i tend to use... watch out for too much highlights everywhere, it can look messy, also try to have a uniform color theme, and add different colors on just some places. Some parts of the foliage seems blurry so i would darken em and add more texture and details on top of them. Truth is that my foliage often looks like that as a starting point and then i continue adding and adding ;)

I actually did a little paintover to demonstrate, not sure if you like it but here it is ;)
I added some different sunburst and some birds to portray depth. Also darkened and desaturated it a bit. Here is the paintover:

Hope i helped a little.
Take care my friend.

Agios,

I responded to your -e-mail message but there was an error.

This painting is very well done and it shows you aren't afraid to challenge yourself with more complex imagery. the detail in this painting is fantastic and your use of colour is excellent. Now that you've done it (really push your color palette) you know it isn't easy to do. Excellent job on creating a strong focal point with your use of color and value.
A couple of things you might want to think about though...consistancy when using multiple light solutions is a must. While you are somehwat consistant there are areas were you waver. You will notice, I use multiple lights to light many of my landscapes. In a fantastic landscape how I use them, and where I place them is usually dictated by what kind of image I'm working on, what kind of emotion I'm trying to convey, and how I am trying to lead the viewers eye with light.Even though my lighting solutions wouldn't necessarily happen here on earth...I make sure they are consistant and generally make sense in a 3 dimensional world. Pllying those principles would definetly increase the depth in this piece. Also, when you use a vibrant color palette, it is important you still mantain a consistant color key. Meaning, you know the color of your lights and you make sure your objects local color is effected accordingly. In other words; the color of your objects is the sum of thier local color and the color of the lights in your scene. It's also good to see you challenging yourself with a piece containing a figure. I would say you pulled it off fairly well; however, there are a few anatomy issues. Again, many of them could be cleared with a consitant lighting solutions. Did you use reference fot the figure in this painting? Was it you're own or used from a photo found on the net. Either way, do yourself a huuuge favor and start trying to draw the characters you put in your scenes from life. Even if you take reference photso make sure to sketch the figure from other angles so you are sure you understand it well. There is a trend occuring in digital art where people are using photos painting over them and calling them paintings. While I think that ultimately the final image is all that matters....an image that is a "photo paint over" borders on photo manipulation and not painting...well thats another conversation. Either way the best way to know the figure is draw it...so keep doing that. I need practice to.
Overall Excellent job man!
